On tap at Clark Street Ale House, special deal in Chicago or what here?...Anyway pours a light honey brown color, nothing to look at. The aroma and taste are both dominated by blueberry with light wheat. To give them credit like most beers like this it doesn't give the blueberry as generic, actually smells fresh, but doesn't make it work. Fruit should be in a lambic that's about it. Super sweet all around, but really tastes like a blueberry. Hard to finish a split glass with my gf.

Unless you just love blueberries not something worth getting.

Got this at Clark Street Ale, had not seen it anywhere before so figured I'd give it a go.

A - Cloudy yellow color, looks a but muddied in the dark light of the bar. Small head that stuck around a little bit and to the sides of the glass.

S - Well, you do get your blueberries, not the sweet ones but a tartish blueberry smell combined with a wheaty grainy note.

T - It does taste like blueberrys, but it is slightly too sweet and light to taste anything short of an artificial syrup additive. I doubt this is the case, I think it's just hard to get a blueberry beer right when blueberry is supposed to be the predominate flavor. Wheaty taste lets you know the style. Not bad, but definately not good at all, pretty average.

M - Light bodied with a bit of carbonation, more would have made this beer feel like a soda.

D - Not hard to drink at all, but just nothing that puts you in the mood for more of this.

On tap at Clark Street Ale House. I was told that this beer is brewed for them, so that is the only place to find it. Review is from notes. I came to the conclusion that this is the Monarch, with blueberry added. I entered this as a witbier based on the transition of hybrid styles out of the system, and the inability to enter new beers as fruit beers.

The beer poured a very hazy straw color with a finger of head over top that fell to a modest coating. There was little carbonation. The aroma was solid wheaty creamyness with moderate blueberry fruityness along with a little spicy coriander. Blueberry meets witbier. Taking a sip, I found the fruityness hit first, but it was not what I associated with blueberry. It was more just generic fruityness. After a few sips and sitting without a drink for a bit, the blueberry started to show on the after taste. Further sips brought more spicy orange with dense wheat creamyness. The feel was moderate with light carbonation. Not as carbonated as I expected it to be. Overall, it was an interesting brew. I think the base beer inhibited the blueberry from standing out more because of the spiceyness of the coriander. It was worth a look.
