On-tap at Bigby's Pour House in Addison, IL.
Review from written notes.
Served in a branded Two Brothers pint. Jet black with dark mahogany brown edges. Half inch layer of creamy khaki foam on the surface, that lasted for the duration of the glass, leaving sticky rings of lace inside the glass. Strong retention to say the least.
Dry and roasty, unsweetened bakers chocolate in the aroma.
Similar flavors of dry bitter dark chocolate and dark roast coffee. Dry aftertaste, medium bodied, slightly chalky. Not sweet at all, moderate bitterness that seemed more roasty than hop-derived. Earthy lingering charred malts in the aftertaste. Easy enough to finish the pint, probably could have had another.

stopped by the new Roundhouse recently bought by Two bros out of Bankruptcy to purchase some six packs and check out the new digs. They have two beers on tap that will be main stays at the round house....Robust Porter and Imperial Pilsner. The Porter pours a dark opaque with beautiful tan head that laces nicely. The aroma includes earth(peat), coffee(espresso), and malt. The taste is full bodied and when colder more coffe tones but as it warms the earth and peat come out to play. This is a great porter. Not too strong either....unfortunately I dont know the ABV,...yet...if it is high, then they did a great job of covering it. If you like porters....this is worth a try.
