Pours a transparent burnt caramle brown color with a finger of off-white head. A ton of lace.
The nose has light offerings of toasted malt, espresso and a dash of cocoa powder.
The taste is light and malty with a light hop presence. Some cocoa, roasty malt, biscuit-like malt, and a lingering espresso flavor. Hops wrap up the taste with a light punch. Light and sessionable.
The mouthfeel is light, crisp, a bit bitter. Very drinkable.
Overall, this was decent but not too memorable.

Served on tap at the Two Brothers Roundhouse - Aurora, IL
Poured dark brown with some ruby hues at the edge of the glass; off-white head has decent retention and leaves a little lacing on the glass. Not a lot to the aroma, maybe some roasted malt and chocolate, slightly floral hop. Tastes rather sweet, with notes of milk chocolate, bready, slight roasted malt, and as it warms takes on a dark fruit/cherry flavor. Not a whole lot of hop characteristics here. Seems like a brown ale clashed with a porter. Mouth-feel is thin to medium bodied, but smooth. Overall, I wasn't crazy over this "experimental" brew, but it wasn't a bad offering either. Always glad to try something new from the brothers.

The D25 Experimental Dark Ale is a dark/black ale that Two Bros dry hopped. The beer pours a nearly opaque dark amber with creamy white head that laced all the way down the glass. The smell was a pine hop with good malt balance. The taste was a good malt ale with a hop kicker. The mouthfeel was lighter in body, would have like a bit more body, and decent carbonation. Overall it is a good dry hopped black ale.
