This was an unlabeled can that had a sticker-label attached... I figure I may have gotten the first batch off the line!

I was actually at FFF a couple weeks ago when the 2Bros guys showed up with a bunch of beer. Somehow I was given a couple and brought them home...

Served in my Goose Island wine glass.

Looks nice-- hazy golden yellow with some light straw yellow hues and some deep apple cider highlights. White head of 1/2 a finger settled quickly to a ring and left very little lace.
Smells quite saisony-- lemony, lemon-grass, earthy Brett, and a little bready malt.
The flavor is nice, adding a dry spiciness on the finish.

Feels solid: well carbonated and medium bodied with a little residual sugar feel after a sip.

Overall-- a surprisingly good brew from the Warrenville gang. Not world class, but totally worth a shot.

Served in a Half Acre shaker pint glass at Fountainhead.

A collaboration between the Brothers and City Provisions, this beer was brewed with Emperor Hoji's genmaicha, lemongrass, and brettanomyces. It pours a very hazy sunset straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises mild lemon zest, coriander, light brett funk, and a hint of honey. The taste holds notes of lemon zest, coriander, light cardamom, sweet flowers, honey, light vanilla bean, and some very light white bread way in the background somewhere. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a crisp finish. Overall, a highly enjoyable, decently complex, and, yeah, I'm even compelled to say refreshing beer. Good times.

On tap at City Provisions.

Slightly hazed gold, thin layer of white foam fades to a feeble broken skim. Delicate spotty lace in the glass. Fairly bright clarity.

Floral, herbal, earthy and slightly funky Brett yeast. A touch lemony. Taste is dry with a slight edge of earthy Brett funk in there. Light bodied, nicely drinkable. Brett is present but dialed in. A good summer quencher.

On tap at O'Brien's. A collaboration with City Provisions.

A: Hazy yellow with a fast fading white head.

S: Sweet cracker and biscuit. Floral and herbal with prominent orchard fruits (apple and pear). Light leather and earth notes.

T: Apple and pear blend with lemon and sweet malts that remind me of cracker and biscuity grains. Herbal and floral with a low bitterness and a touch of leather. Nice fruity malt finish.

M: Lower medium body with upper low carbonation.

Overall: A nice biere de garde, though a higher level of carbonation would make it more enjoyable.
