new spot that has taken over the old wonder aleworks location in midtown, a great space but that place never really seemed to find its stride, while these guys already have it figured out! started by guys with ties to or experience at revision, so pretty high expectations coming in, and they were not only met but grossly exceeded! it doesnt look a whole lot different, still a neat old brick building with a long layout, all kinds of little seating areas scattered around, sports on tv, the brewhouse in the back, a big kitchen area back there too, lots of room, bustling when we were in on a weeknight too which is a great sign. i was impressed with the beer list right away, tons of choices for being so new, and covering a lot of ground, the had some killer lagers, including a tidy mexican example, a pils on the side pull faucet which i adore, and a lights out vienna lager too, way cool. they also had two absurd stouts, a coconut vanilla one and an even more impressive imperial brewed with actual coffee cake that i think was my favorite of the visit. i also was stoked on their hoppy stuff, the house ipa is timeless and fire, and the cold ipa is fresh, immaculately clean, and something i would drink every day, safe to say they have some real chops on the production side, everything i drank was excellent, no exceptions. got to meet the brewery who was rad, rest of the service was also solid, generous too, the vibe overall was casual and really fun, totally beer focused, they do some food too but i didnt eat there or even really think about it, but if the food is half as good as the beer, it will be great. its obvious that they are dialed in on quality, one of the best new brewery experiences ive ever had frankly, and i cant imagine them not taking this town by storm. the coffee cake stout is epic, but all of it is killer. cant wait to go back, highly recommended!

edit: the service was nowhere near as good the second time, bartender told us we couldnt order from the bar and then go sit down because there was a server on the floor for those seats, but the dude was overwhelmed by just a few tables and it was problematic for the flow of our drinking, especially without details on the printed beer lists, trips to the bar were still necessary. guy also didnt know much about the beer. i get that its hard to find good help but they should make it easier not harder to get beers in here. reducing that score only slightly, they still have some dynamite beers in here and i enjoyed the visit despite the service experience.
