(Notes of 14/07/07) Tasted by a half-pint at the Swim Inn, a JDW pub on the West Street, Sheffield; served by a sparkler pull.
A: straw-ish honey-drink in colour, coming with low carbonation and a white creamy froth that leaves very tight lacing as it slowly settles.
S: lightly stinky hays and straws, faint honey and sour-sweet nectar and some traces of lemon-curd even... refreshing and nicely hoppy, without a specific trace of malts actually.
T: a mouthful of fresh flowery and lightly citric juicy hops is underlined by a milder backbone of buttery maltiness... a salty-sweet palate springs from the back of the palate, where the lightly toasty undertones expand and provide a quiet but solid malty backbone; turning incredibly dry and chewy in the bitter aftertaste, tangy, zesty... the enticing bitterness just never ends!
M&D: soft on the palate, medium-bodied, a very thrist-quenching Northern English that is packed with US Liberty hops. In line with other "hop feasts" from the same brewery, this one is also highly quaffable.
