Consumed from a bottle with an expiry date of 08/2011. Described as a slightly stronger version of their cask ale with 4.5% ABV.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A nice light blonde colour with a thin white head that dissipates quite quickly; looks similar to a lager but somewhat cloudier. Carbonation is weak with fine bubbles. Initial smell is of hops with a malty undertone (the bottle mentions a late addition of Mount Hood hops).

A gentle malt flavour that gives way to a lingering hoppy bitterness - a good balance between malt and hops. Slides down very nicely!

A very pleasant beer that would go down well on a hot summer's day.

Hand-pulled pint in Willy's brew-pub, Cleethorpes: 30 Mar 2013.

Pale gold with a pure white head that produced some good lacing.

Refreshing feeling to the brew: hops in the aroma, floral mostly. The taste was also leaning towards hops with a bitterness that was noticable but not 'in your face'; the malt content calmed the hops down somewhat.

Easy to drink and pleasing to the eye.

Bottled
Pours a golden body with okay white head
Aroma of paper rubbed lightly with boiled egg, lemon sherbet, celery and minerals. TT-like stewed grass and Yorkshire Snatch character; cream and slate afters. Scones. A bit tedious.

Served cold in pint glass from 500ml bottle purchased from Asda.

A) Very light lager colour, though it is an ale. Quite a thin white head.

S) Served cold, so not getting a lot. Hint of lighter malts and fruity hops. Nothing out of place for sure.

T) Nice. For an ale, very light; hint of new world hops at the forefront, slight liquorice after taste.

M) Light and refreshing for an ale; meets the lager-type ale that the bottle says they are going for. Carbonation is moderate and in keeping with the good balance of the beer.

O) Although going for a slightly unusual lager-type ale style, this is a well balanced beer and served cold on a warm August night, I am a happy customer. Recommended.
