Thank Alex. Consumed on 11/22/2009 in a snifter. Transparent crimson with a one finger creamy head. Head quickly recedes. The nose smells like rusty sweet potatoes, grain, and iron. Cloying yam pie. The beer actually tastes worse than it smells, with an added rice component to complement the iron. Someone in the room tried to load a handgun and shoot himself after drinking this. We tried to stop him but he said he couldn't bear to live any longer after witnessing such horror. In the end, the suicide failed because he began puking violently and he dropped the gun. After a few minutes he seemed fine again. He later said that he found himself in a grim shadow land shortly after drinking this, and that he began to despair that life would go on like that. The drain enjoyed the rest of my pour so I only had a few suicidal thoughts.

Thanks to Scott for bringing this to the tasting.
I think the name is german for Ruby Red.
Ingredients: Malt, hops, starch, fragrance, ayamurasaki imo
A - Pinkish orange body with smallish white head.
S - Sour floral, more particularly roses, and moscato d'asti
T - Extremely sweet, followed by nasty bitterness and sour.
M - Horrid festering feeling
D - Nasty, nasty perfumy crap. Avoid.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
