Warning: Our Strongest Brew Ever
This stonking brew has been matured in Islay Whisky Oak Casks from the Bruichladdich Scottish Distillery, giving it super strength, with a lovely hit peat after-taste...very powerful stuff.

Bought in the UK in 2016 or thereabout, bottle probably dated 2015 or 2016 - drank out of a tulip January, 2021
Look - opened with no pop, lost most of it's carbonation, if it had any to begin with. Poured a dark black.
Smell - it's all about the whiskey - very strong and robust.
Taste - again, very barrel forward, very much about the Islay whiskey. I liked that aspect, somewhat raw and unrefined. Definitely had a porter roast to it, but also had some kind of a chalky taste going on that detracted from it - this might have been the peat aftertaste referred to on the bottle. The major bummer was the lack of any carbonation.
Feel - the lack of carbonation kind screwed up the mouthfeel but it was probably medium / thick
Overall - I'm sure this lost carbonation during the 4 or 5 years I sat on it but maybe not. It's their strongest beer so maybe it was intended that way, or maybe that was the brewer's choice. This beer needs some refinement before making again.
