16oz can, purchased from cold storage. From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON 02/04/2025 12:37:09"
Appearance: It is black-bodied with a dense brown head that starts out short then rises quickly to a large size and fades out slowly with some craters and pock-marks appearing. No lacing but good retention.
Aroma: Light aromas of cocoa and burnt pine. It has a bit of a cola aroma as well.
Taste: Light carbon and a bit of cocoa throughout. It has a bit of a cherry-like quality towards the outer edges of the tongue with a tinge of acridness. It has a light bit of wintergreen character in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full bodied and extremely smooth. It feels excellent on the tongue. There is a medium kilned grain bitterness.
Overall: It is a good stout. The label calls this a "Wheated Stout" and it's possible that wheat could have contributed to its excellent mouthfeel because it feels very smooth. Flavor and aroma-wise it's good. I could buy it again and I'd recommend it.

This beer is a take on Oatmeal Stouts substituting wheat for Oatmeal. Makes for a smoother stout but with a touch of wheat bitterness. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a dense dark brown body with no light coming through and a small dark brown foamy/bubbly head with average to less than average retention and minimal lacing. Rich aroma and flavor, malty with a touch of semi-sweet chocolate. Mouthfeel is quite rich for such a low .abv beer with a little wheat bitteness and a touch of sweetness to add a bit of complexity. I had it with Indian food but it would be a good session beer also. NIcely done!!
