Blind-tasted/rated.
Bought from Scotsdales Garden Centre Trumpington Cambridge. 500ml bottle. BB: 28/10/2024 Ouch £3.29
L- Mid-gold, clear as a glacial stream. Pours with a 3mm snow-white foam cap. Some fresh rising CO2 from the glass's nucleation point.
S- Grainy, overall mild.
T- Grainy, minor roasty malt note, some hoppy-dryness that I'm surprised to find leaves a dry lick across my palate.
F- My thinking this is that this is a lager, with some characterful facets and dryer hopping than typical. Carbonation in the mouth is good.
O- Notably hoppy-dry and on the lighter side hints to this being a good summer or lunch beer. Well put together. At 4.2% and as a pale beer there is limited scope to 'shoot the lights out', but it does a good job within that latitude.
The labelling suggests it is making the most of this beer having previously been brewed in Cambridgeshire (now in Suffolk). This kind of 'cute over-localised' marketing, eye-catching for tourists etc can be a warning sign of dolled up 2nd class offering. Here they do a good enough job. The price is premium though, esp for the modest ABV%. My benchmark is a regular fav tipple the supremely brewed Abbot Reserve £2.65/500. This is say 25% more; I'm unlikely to buy it from Scottsdales again.

Ratings+review done, now to check the bottle for any clues: Ahhhh, a 'golden ale, refreshing flowery nose, slightly citrus aftertaste. Brewed with barley and wheat.
