During the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain (1940-2010) Wolf produced a few beers to celebrate the feat of the RAF: this is one of those beers.
Poured into a sleeve from a 500ml bottle (conditioned), just out of date.
Mid amber, clear body, broken, wispy off-white head. What head there was tried to hang on and it did produce some good lacing.
This is a hoppy brew (by UK standards) and they dominate the smell and taste. Very drinkable, the hops rule, but there is a malt sweetness just under the surface which helps my tastebuds (I prefer sweeter, maltier Bitters).
The alcohol is to the fore, tasted stronger than the advertised 4.3% ABV: having said that, it is well balanced and well made.
