Just a normal dubbel done very well. Sweet, yummy, very drinkable for a dubbel, wish they still brewed this because I love a good Belgian anything and they're harder to find than a good imperial stout or a good light ale.

Review from notes.
Served in a Blackstone tulip glass. Glad to see the brewery knows their glassware.
A - Color is a deep brown with ruby highlights. Nice two fingers of off-white head with bubbly and active carbonation, settles down to a nice layer on top. Lacing and retention are good.
S - Smells of caramel malt and dark belgian sugars. Maybe a bit of ripe dark fruit in there. Pleasant.
T - Taste is a bit bitter at first, and not quite what I expected. Should have let it warm a bit more, as the taste definitely mellows out and falls into more common dubbel territory. More caramel malt and belgian sweetness that was picked up in the nose. It's nice but not outstanding. Some mild hop bitterness balances out the finish.
M - Mouthfeel is very nice. Full but not thick. Nice carbonation. Seems about spot on for the style.
D - Drinkability is ok - I'm not sure of the abv, but the alcohol is well hidden. It's nice to have a fresh belgian style on tap, but overall I wasn't just blown away and Blackstone has some other really nice beers on tap. I'll probably order something else next round unless I'm just really in the mood for a dubbel.
