We took imperial stout aged 33 months in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels and blended it with a small amount of "new" un-aged beer to balance the liquid. Then, we conditioned the stout on exclusive Kopi Luwak coffee and vanilla beans sourced from the island of Java, Indonesia, as well as a modest amount of cacao nibs.

Poured from a waxed 12oz can with no date (purchased at release, 11/27/24) into a snifter.
Look: Motor oil black with a thin bronze 1-finger head that dissipates exceptionally quickly. Lacing remains when sipping, but no legs.
Smell: Hits the nose hard with hot bourbon notes, oaky and searing. Only a hint of chocolate and black coffee get through.
Taste: Very bourbon forward, with plenty of ethanol and barrel notes. Dark chocolate and sweeter coffee do hold their own though, and there's a slightly tart note on the back end, likely from the Kopi Luwak coffee. A hint of vanilla cream is somewhere in there, but not easy to pick out. It does get more chocolatey and rich as it warms.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, but the body is a tad too thin and alcoholic.
Overall: I was really intrigued by the experience this beer proposed, but I think it's a little all over the place. It's not helped by the presentation (and price) being top notch. Maybe not measured enough on the blend? It's still a good beer, but falls a little short.
