Alementary’s Special Edition Extra Hoppy IPA kicks off with a racy, golden chrome pour and a frothy white cap that rests just above the reasonably hazy ale. As the scent of citrus, lighter tropical fruit and fragrant herbs race onto the nose, the somber taste of caramel and honey frame a nearly granola-like maltiness.
With the malt sweetness reducing to a simple support of hops, the middle palate shows a rise of citrus fruit in a classic pink grapefruit, orange and lemon peel American taste. Trending into a drier direction, fruit flavors develop into the bitterness of fruit peel, soft pine needles, green tea, verbena and peppery grasses in a clean and bitter finish.
Medium bodied and striking that classic American IPA balance, the ale shows pleasant fruitiness, striking bitterness and all wrapped in a crisp, refreshing and drying mouthfeel.

Initially poured clear but once the dregs were added the beer became cloudy. THICK white head leaving superb lacing. Nose os citrusy. Taste had more of a wheat hint to it that I expected. Much less bitterness than I want or it should have
