Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is light brown/amber edges, head is light tan, head presents one finger thick then dissipates to thin top, spotty lacing.
Smell is light, subtle malt with chocolate, toast, hint of roast and light coffee, slight earthy hops.
Taste is more malt, chocolate but not sweet, some toast, roast, and light roasted coffee; hops are more bittering and earthy.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, low bitterness but a lingering carbonic bite.
Overall a pleasant dunkel with light chocolate and roast flavor.

Taster at brewery. Dark amber pour, thin but lasting beige head. Malty aroma, brown bread. Taste is toasty malts, caramel, pumpernickel. Smooth and full.

Picked this up in their lager mix pack because well...3 of the 4 beers I've never had before. This dunkel falls short of others I've had by quite a bit. Not bready at all let alone like a pretzel. Not terrible though either.
