A: Deep copper hue. Very clear. Some nice lacing on the glass.
S: For a beer called "Hopicity", I was expecting a hop blast in the aroma. This is mild hops with slight malt sweetness. The hops are light grapefruit.
T: OK, that's an IPA. Malt sweetness in front gives way to citrus hop bitterness in the back. Pretty well balanced. Maybe some orange mixed in with the grapefruit. The sweetness is nice. Maybe some very slight alcohol burn right at the end.
M: Fair amount of body, light carbonation, but just enough to keep things interesting.
O: A decent IPA, not amazing or anything. A little more flavor hops to counter the bitter hops would have made it better.

Color is a gorgeous amber-red. Fluffy, off-white head holds up nicely. Smell is faint, like cupcakes baking in the oven as you approach the house (no, that doesn't actually happen in my household).

Taste is complex. Definitely getting a bready, caramel malt. Not as hoppy as I expected, but the hops are delicious and balance the beer nicely. Citrusy finish, but not overpowering.

I thought the hops would be more pronounced; it's more like an English ale. But it's still a terrific beer.

 

Pours an amber color with a spongy spotty slightly off white head which goes away and leaves almost no lace. The aroma is of caramel malt, biscuits, and some citrus hops. The taste follows suit a caramel malt backbone has a bready like flavor over the top. There is also that english ipa type taste in the middle, its like a tea almost. The back end has a slight citrus hop bite, not huge but enough to know that it was there. The mouthfeel was well carbonated. Overall I thought it was a good take on the english style. It was a little more malty than hoppy. A good beer.

had my sister pick me up a growler of this while she was doing a little skiing. at fridge temp, poured into an EBC pint glass.

pours out a clear amber/ copper color with some reddish hues. small fizzy off white head that faded within seconds, the second glass held a head a little longer. no lace.

not much of an aroma. some metallic, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness. hardly any hops here, maybe just a touch of an herbal scent. again, disappointing...

biscuity, metallic, slightly caramel like malt. just a touch of herbal citrus hop flavor and a bit of bitterness in the finish. medium bodied, average feeling carbonation. drinkability wise, one growler equals no problem.

overall, this was pretty disappointing. i had higher hopes for this beer, coming from one of my favorite local breweries. with a name like hopicity, i was hopeing for some nice hop aromas and flavors, but there is hardly any. a nice amber ale, but not an IPA.

English style IPA tried on tap at Clark's Ale House. The malts are in the forefront, secondary is the hops. Serviceable bitter. Carbonation was right there. Above average mouthfeel. Not bad, just didn't work for me today, but another worthwhile try by the brewery.
