12oz brow bottle, sample from the brewery.
A big bold Blonde Ale aged in American oak, lots of fresh wood in the nose with hints of melon rind, tannin, light honey, and shortbread. Creamy full body with some crispness. Warming from the 8.5% abv, wood is on the palate from start to finish. Some suggestions of spice and vanilla. Grassy, vegtal. Certainly not your typical brew, love the "in your face" wood character and the brawniness of this brew to keep some balance.

I really likegoing outEllicottville when in western NY and really enjoy going to the brewpub,I like most of the offerings there, not this one.Poured a dull medium golden with almost no head to speak of.Seagrams 7 aromas dominate, just sweet and Canadian whiskeyish not much else to speak of.Flavors are sweet and coating and again tastes like Canadian whiskey, alot of vanilla with no oaky drying notes. Not a good beer and I hate saying that.
