Another interesting new offering from Twains. It's hazy orange with a slight head that fades to a ring. Nose is fruity, with bananas, and vinyl. Odd.
Taste is like banana bread with walnuts, sour cherries and mixed berries, yeast, and more... its very complex, but a bit of a mish-mash. Mouthfeel is super carbonated and tangy. Not the most drinkable beer, but very unique and great to try.

From Twain's website: Two months in the making, we took a batch of Hefeweizen and briefly put it on some Strawberries. We then pushed it through a filter to clarify, creating a Kristall Weizen. Later, we inserted Oak spirals and blended a little Lactic acid in for added complexity. 6.0% abv.

Pours a cloudy dark gold color with a one-finger white head. The head dissipates into a wispy layer of bubbles on top and a medium-sized ring around the glass. Lacing is decent.

Smells good. Big tart fruit aromas backed up by a slight earthy smell.

Tastes very good. Mild sweet malt and big berry flavors up front make this both sweet and sour at once. The initial flavors are followed by hints of the oak and a smooth lactic taste. This is a very well done beer with a lot of complexity.

Mouthfeel is good. The thickness is augmented by the lactic acid and the carbonation is not too much nor too little. Very smooth.

Drinkability is good. The berry flavors are big, but not overdone. I could have another one of these.

Overall this is another beer in Twain's latest batch that really impressed me. As with the Imperial Brown, be sure to make it over there if you can and try these out.
