Comes only in one liter plastic bottles. Sugar is an ingredient. Best before 3/1/04, I opened it on 9/23/03. Rather than a Russian imperial stout (still looking for one of those in Mother Russia), this is a Russian attempt to copy an Irish stout. Reasonably successful.

Pours a very dark cloudy brown with a fairly thin one-finger head that lingers quite well and leaves good stout-like lace. The nose is mild, but the roasty goodness of a stout is certainly present. The mouth is slightly sour, light-bodied, with medium carbonation. There is a slightly citrus sour taste, followed by roasted chestnuts and malt. The finish has the necessary burnt hops bitterness, leaving a good stout aftertaste. While this brew probably would not be popular in Ireland, it was quite good given its origins.
