Had at the grand opening. Imperial Black IPA. Beer #1 in their NoDable Series. Served from tap into a NoDa snifter. Poured pitch black with a half finger tan head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, citrus, citrus hop, earthy, and earthy hop. The flavor was of roasted malt, citrus, citrus hop, earthy, earthy hop, and sweet alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. The roastiness on this one was quite intense. The citrus notes I found in this one added a nice touch of complexity. The earthiness also plays a nice a role in this one. Really glad I got the chance to try this at their grand opening. Tick.
