Had at the brewery during its release! Served from tap into NoDa snifter. Poured a massively dark brown with a half finger khaki colored head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, dark fruit, rye, and spices. The flavor was of sweet malt, banana, dark fruit, spice, rye, and subtle alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. This was a really nice twist on this style by adding the rye to it. The rye gives it a really nice spice to the brew while still carrying all the flavors and aromas one would expect from the style. Another solid NoDable brew from NoDa. Tick.
