Served from cask into a Black & Blue III shaker. Poured a massively dark brown with a two finger khaki colored head that subsided to half a finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, bread, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, wood, and vanilla. The flavor was of sweet malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, milk chocolate, wood, and subtle sweet alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. The aroma on this was a little lighter than one might expect so you have to do some work to get everything, but it was quite nice though. The flavor was very apparent so there wasn't too much guessing to be had on it. Really glad to see they guys at NoDa trying out new treatments with their already solid lineup and hope to see more of it in the future. Tick.
