I enjoyed this Christmas beer that the brewery had saved for well after the holidays. Spicier than most winter warmers, but not overpoweringly so. Lots of cinnamon flavor and a bit of a maple note as well. Smell wasn't much, so I'm glad the taste was significantly better. Good holiday beer, and I hope they bring it back again next year.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a high sided tulip glass.
Look is a clear golden brown with a thin head.
Aroma is intense spices with a slight malt sweetness.
Taste matches aroma. Lots of spice with a light malt sweetness.

Pleasantly surprised after reading other reviews. Pours a nice dep amber with a nice head. Mostly Cinnamin hits the nose. Taste has a variety of spice, but a more pleasing mix than suggested by others. Not thick, but definitely not thin going down. I really enjoyed this, not an A+, but a solid B.

Another Advent offering, 2017.
Middle of the pack for this one. It has some nice things going on but there is nothing to make it "pop".
Cinnamon and spices come through, sweet but thin on body. Decent head.

12oz bottle, day 15 of the 2017 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar. This is the 2017 version, made with maple syrup and spices.
This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat bubbly ecru head, which leaves some thick Swiss cheese pattern lace around the glass as it slowly sinks out of sight.
It smells prominently of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg spice, bready and crackery caramel malt, and some earthy, floral, and soapy hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, mixed holiday spices (with a sharp metallic edge to them), faint woody maple notes, laundry detergent, and more plain earthy, musty, and floral green hoppiness.
The carbonation is average in its workaday frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and not particularly smooth, not with all that spiciness lurking about. It finishes trending dry, the malt petering out a bit, while the spices (mostly ginger) keep the home fires burning.
Overall - yeah, yet another disappointment in this increasingly inane holiday gift package. I'm not quite saying that I have another infected brew on my hands, but something ain't right here, and it's not just the overabundance of spice, which kind of obfuscates the problem. Whatever it is, I'm not feeling this one.
