Pours absolutely flat. No head no bubble. It's dirty. Amber in color. Starts sweet then hoppy then bitter. Leaves no lacing in glass. Just think this beer lacks in many ways.

Honey-yellow body; extremely thin, white head. Deep, heady fruit aroma; dried apricots; smoked honey. Brown sugar and rye flavors; boozy; slow building yet ultimately hard hitting bitterness. Heavy body; lots of residual sugar raspiness on the palate;somewhat astringent.
Despite the lack of an eye-pleasing head, this is one huge, powerhouse beer. Lots of big sugar sweetness and alcohol-derived oomph from the grain bill. There is a huge cereal grain toastiness to the malt picture that nicely offsets an otherwise heavy sweetness to things. The massive ABV and related alcohol heat also adds hearty taste dimension to things. One hell of a celebratory anniversary beer...
