Kriek #862 of 1200. Bottled on Feb. 16 2016. This is a lambic in name only. Totally a fruit sour
Looks dusty and old, the bottle, I mean. Clouded darker-than-I'd-have-thought yellow. Smell is funk, cherry, and a whole 'nother separate funk. Taste is pucker-up-in-two-places sour, I mean Sour, and I like it like that (sing to the tune of "I like it like that"). Cherry and that weird yeasty funk... it almost reminds me of something... my brother said it all tastes like Red Bull - and he's not far from the mark.... It's almost champagne-like.... a dry funk that touches on brett barnyard territory, but only in a vaguely tasty way. Maybe a little leather like the other guy said, because there is that stanky and/or sweaty something-or-else here also. But I'm going deep, starting to babble. It's pretty easy drinking after 4 years, while remaining still sour'er than most.
I want to grab a bottle and put 2-3 maybe 4 more years on it, see how it fares then. I bet it's even better a little more mellowed out - experimentation all in the name of gettin' drunk. But alas, it's all sold-out. I missed my chance, lesson learned

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Bottled on date is smudged on label, but looks to be 'FEB 14 2016'. Bottle '62' of '1200'. Found at France 44, Edina MN in June, 2018. First time exposure to this brewery.
Clear body, with the color of pale amber and a tint of pink from the cherries. Initial pour was 90% foamy head, which quickly disappeared. Left behind is a thin ring fed by copious quantities of rising bubbles. No lacing.
Aroma of subtle cherries and funky yeast. Grassy and leather.
Taste of tart cherries and funky yeast. No hops or bitterness. Misses some of the sweet nature of other fruit lambics.
Medium mouth feel. Dry finish. High fizzy carbonation.
Good but not great fruited lambic. Totally drinkable however.

Look: very pale pink, almost had me worried there was not going to be a pronounced cherry flavor
Smell: slight tart cherry, almost apple
Taste: Cherries come through and give that cherry pie taste you want with a kriek
Feel: pretty dry, very acidic

L: Pink with a very slight haze under a soft and pillowy 2” white foam collar with a faint pink tint that lasts for 3 minutes.
S: Cherry, cinnamon, and some light biscuit aromas evoke a cherry tart.
T: Tart cherries with a lemony acid bite and a restrained funk that makes it refreshing. Has a lingering lemony cherry finish.
F: Crisp yet creamy with the classic kriek lambic texture and a biting effervescence.
O: A very nice Kriek.
