Bold, rich, and sweet, this smooth milk stout is complemented by the addition of fresh strawberries. This beer is intense and complex, but the sweet citrus from the berries cuts through the bold flavor just enough to keep this beer balanced and approachable

neat idea, but there definitely needs to be more strawberry in here. its sweet and maybe a little generic red fruity, but true strawberry is faint in here, lost a bit to the sweetness, not the dark malt, sort of an odd layering here. more brown than black in color, looks light for the style, holds a nice light brown head. smells like chocolate, fruity sweetness, and lots of lactose, maybe a bit much really. there lacks the dark bitter roasted barley malt aspect, as a result it drinks more like a big brown ale than a stout, it needs a lower low end. the flavors are good though, if you dont mind the sweetness. there is a nice cocoa element, earthy and rich, and a sort of jammy sweetness, but its not so obviously strawberry. some proportions need to be tweaked for this to be amazing. less milk sugar for sure, that aspect has run wild here, more strawberry up front, more body to support the flavors and the booze, and some balancing darker malt so this doesnt come across so sugary. its not way off, and its a cool stab at it, but this should improve significantly in future batches...

On tap. Pours black with a fingernail head that fades quickly and doesn't leave lacing. Nose of a standard milk stout with roasted malt and dark chocolate. The taste follows the nose with roasted malt, chocolate, and just a hint of earthy hops. I didn't pick up any strawberry or fruit. Medium-heavy body and light carbonation with good creaminess.
It was the right color and mouthfeel, but was missing the strawberries. I primarily got it because I was curious if strawberries would work with it and I am still not sure. Good milk stout but theres nothing differentiating it from a lot of other options.
