Got a corked and caged 750 ml bottle vintage 2016 at the taproom in Cherry Creek. Shared with a bartender. Kudos man! The bottle cork was hard to get out and some co2 wispy fog came out after opening. Poured into a stemmed glass of about 10oz.
The beer pours a clear golden color with fizzy bleached white head of 2cm. The foam fades quickly to an edge layer leaving some scattered lattice after each sip.
The aroma is a little musty funk, then lots of grapes, not sweet but sort of tart notes. Some bready yeast notes and a bit of sugary note too. Not boozy at all which is nice.
First sip reveals and average body with fine gentle carbonation and a bit of sticky texture. Flavor is some caramel and sweet malt, again lots of red grape but not the sweet notes, more tart or like the skin of the grape not the fruit.
I dont get any hops and the booze is totally hidden as well. The beer dries out a ton on the finish, encouraging me to take the next sip.
I enjoy this beer a lot and think the flavors all interplay nicely. Glad i got to try this one. It was the only bottle at the taproom, bit it is worth trying if you find one out in the wild.
