On tap at Highland Park Brewery in Los Angeles, CA.
Described as a coffee habanero coconut stout.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and coffee bean aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness and chile heat on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a chile presence that only comes through as a mild amount of heat in the flavor.
