On tap at Highland Park Brewery in Los Angeles, CA.
Described as being brewed with lavender and habaneros.
Pours a hazy dark crimson-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, coffee bean, brewed coffee, lavender, and slight chile aromas. Taste is much the same with coffee bean, brewed coffee, and lavender flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness and chile heat on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with an odd sounding mix of ingredients, but they work together fantastically in the finished product.
Serving type: on tap.
