Batch 3. Pours a jet black with a fluffy mocha head. Nose is initially bourbon forward followed by notes of caramel and fresh coffee grounds. Taste of deep roast coffee, especially as the beer warms. The coffee becomes more and more prevalent. Nice smooth candied bourbon, notes of vanilla, caramel and chocolate covered nougat. Smooth oak wraps this stout up in a nice tight package. No lose ends with this one! It is a well rounded, complex and well executed BA Stout. Medium to full body with almost a short of chewy mouthfeel, like I want to sit and gnaw on it for awhile! Slight bourbon burn to finish. Wow I love these guys and the brews they are turning out!

Reviewed from notes. Batch 3. Poured from a 500ml capped bottle black under a 1/2-inch thick mocha head which fades to a thin cap and rim leaving spotty lace. Aroma is roasty, cocoa/dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, oak, mild char, coffee, and marshmallows. Flavor follows the nose with a syrupy sweetness, more coffee than roast, and char. Fully body and semi-moderate carbonation. Rich, thick, chewy, sweet, roasty finish. Wow, dis good!

A - Pitch black pour with a thick, bubbly toffee colored lacing ring, very sticky on the sides of the glass.
S - Forward and aggressive nose with coffee, dark roasted malt, some bourbon and vanilla, does not have a strong alcohol forward aroma.
T - Deep roasted dark chocolate from start to finish, bourbon, dry oak, delicate vanilla.
M - Full bodied, thick, syrupy, slippery, lip smacking sticky. Lingering burnt chocolate sweetness.
O - This is a really good barrel aged stout.
