Pours brown with no head.

Nose is very big and assertive herbs and cooking spices. Nose and mouth/taste follow one another well in this medium carbed nice bodied beer. Tastes of bbq roasted meat and clean coffee tones. Not sure how this tastes at all like an American IPA but it is nicely bitter and tastes good.

Taster at the Hermosillo. Beautiful cherry brown color. No head. Faint smell of dank and apple. Mid carbonation, slightly bubbly on the tongue, light up front but the carmel hop coats and sustains. Great piney stone fruit hop combo of columbus, simcoe and citra hops. Dry finish. Pretty great on par but very different from the 1up

On tap at Highland Park Brewery in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and pine needle aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, pine needle, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a nice mix of citrus and earthy hop qualities.

Serving type: on tap.
