500 mL bottle. Pours black with a little edge transparency. Smells of coffee, a little cardboard oxidation, roasted malt. Tastes of coffee, sharp lactose tang, a little roasted malt, and some faint cinnamon. Kinda oxidatized, low carbonation. Seems to be over the hill.

jet black with a nice 2 finger head.. leads to little to no lacing, strong bourbon .booze nose with not much there feel one note, The booze burn follows the taste with a stong bitterness from roasted malt (burnt toast). I find the booze and bitterness from the roast is overpowering and looking for more in the beer,

Solid black body, small head, OK retention and lacing.
Lovely and strong aroma even straight from the fridge. Very clearly a coffee stout, creamy and smooth, with touches of cinnamon and vanilla.
Flavor is, if anything, even smoother. Coffee and cinnamon; chocolaty malt body laced with vanilla; so smooth and thick that it doesn't come across as particularly roasty in the malt body. Long finish; each sip, the cinnamon becomes more prominent than before, but in a very pleasant way.
Lively but full feel. Long, sticky finish. Slight back-end heat.

This is one amazing stout for this relatively new, small upstart brewery in the back of a bar in HIghland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles! Wow. Amazing effort and clearly in the same league with "the big boys."
Black with a medium khaki head that keeps for a bit.
Nose is gigantic chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and more and more and more. The flavor profile is aggressive, bold and just keeps on coming. Sweet chocolate; sweet coffee; vanilla, oak, maple, cinnamon, etc. etc. Like I said, complex and just keeps on getting better.
Mouth feel is big, rich, bold, creamy and simply awsome.
This is an all around wonderful stout that can, again, compete with the biggest and best of them.

Aromas of coffee, cinnamon, dark malts, a little ashy. This baby coats your mouth like thick oil. Has that classic Mexican chocolate character but without the heat many beers add. Some might miss the barrel character that we associate with beers like the BA Mexican Cake series, and they may have a point. But it's nice to enjoy the drinkability of this dark one without the added heat.
