Pours a ruggy and foggy brown with burgundy around the edges. Head is a finger of off-white foam. Aroma is raisin, fig, caramel, molasses, and nutty. It has a smooth oak note just behind, which smooths things together along with the spicy hops at the end. Flavor profile is molasses, raisins, fig, soft toffee, caramel, and brown sugar. It leans into the big, sugary English barleywine notes in the taste. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a still texture that is a touch fuzzy around the edges. Overall, very smooth and hearty, with a focused, disciplined flavor profile.
