Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with minimal head. The nose is insane. Loads of bourbon coming through immediately. Vanilla, toffee, molasses, and maple. Raisin, figs, cinnamon, graham cracker, and sherry.
The taste is outstanding. Bourbon-soaked toffee candy. Vanilla, port, berries, cola, clove, brown sugar, oak, and tons if raisin. This is a really nicely done barleywine. The barrel is definitely strong. Very smooth, and not too sweet. Excellent stuff.

Looking more like madeira than beer, the clear copper reddish-brown body darkens with a varnish-like quality under nothing but a fluid surface.
Having this outside on a warmly sunny day is definitely a deterrent, but the quality of this execution still bucks that, with solid maris qualities exuding toffee, caramel and black tea with honey accompanied by a barrel depth that eschews any woody heat.
