Poured a few degrees warmer than fridge temp. Pours jet black with almost no head. Looks like a thick one! The nose is pretty much what you'd expect from a big vanilla stout....vanilla! Lots of it. Tons of rich milk chocolate, a touch of raisins, molasses, and a touch of bourbon. Lovely.
The taste follows the nose perfectly. Tons of vanilla, some bourbon, a lot of chocolate, a hint of coconut, slight taste of whoppers, a hint of walnuts, and a nice layer of dark fruit. That said, vanilla and chocolate are the main players. Very nice integration, if not a tad uni-dimensional.
Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Fairly short finish.

Pours a jet black crude oil with a thick brown head that drops to a thin ring quickly. No lacing, but good legs after each sip.
Smells of vanilla, oak, whiskey, candied raisins, alcohol, and a mild cocoa finish.
Tastes like Bourbon and vanilla.
Rich and thick mouthfeel, light bubbles, and a flabby finish.
It's an enjoyable beer, nicely aged. Notes of Bourbon are smooth, no hot alcohol. But it finishes flabby and sweet. I would prefer more bitterness and roast, and maybe a slightly lower pH.
