Double Barrel Griffith is a double barrel aged imperial stout.
Prior to adding coffee to last year's BA Griffith blend, we re-racked part of the blend into a port barrel we got from Woodinville Whiskey, which they had as a finishing cask to their whiskey. We mixed it up a little and instead of the Ethiopian coffee typically found in Griffith, Greg from Trystero Coffee, selected a Costa Rica coffee.
1st Barreling: mix of Bourbon barrels from Old Forester, Woodford Reserve, and Woodford Reserve Double Oak that we aged the Griffith blend for 12 months.
2nd Barreling: Port barrel that held Woodinville bourbon that we aged the blend for another 11 months.

Poured from tap at the brewery. Pours jet black. Nose is coffee, bourbon, rye, vanilla, and raisin. Taste is amazing. Tons of bourbon, chocolate, some roasty notes, dark fruit, coffee, and a hint of molasses. Sweet but really good. Excellent beer overall.
