Pours clear, reddish brown in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is smoked malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Medium light bodied, roasty, with moderate carbonation. Makes for a good domestic example of the style. I would get this again. Nice sessionable sipper.

Served in a snifter glass from the bottle.
Appearance: Thin dark black body with medium bubbles. Tan head rising one finger's length.
Smell: Malts and hops, lacks potency or much substance. Feels like a lager.
Taste: Heavy malt but tasty bitterness.
Mouth: Medium to heavy carbonation with heavy malt finish. Little dry.
Overall: Descent brew, nice little pick up for a middle of the night drink. Salud!

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a Guinness glass.
Look is black with dark red cola colored highlights and a thin coffee foam head.
Aroma is malty and roasty sweet.
Taste exactly matches aroma with a dry bitter roast finish.
Delicious.

From the bottle, it pours a very dark brown, almost black with a modest head, soon diminishing to a thin ring. Lacing. Roast malt in the nose. Very light mouthfeel, roasted malt flavor.

A simple stout without all the overtones, very refreshing in its purity. Certainly a lighter body, but that's OK. Very drinkable (we are drinking a growler) and the head is nice.
