A salty sweet combination of fresh cantaloupe and black lava sea salt. It’s no mistake that the two main ingredients in this delicious brew are Orange and Black, celebrating the opening day off the Baltimore Orioles.

Canned 2/21/21
Lightly hazy orangey-gold, with light, short-lived white head.
Indistinct fruity aroma(3.25), with a bit of biscuity malt. I get some perfumey melon aroma from the open can (3.75). Split the difference : (3.5)
Cantaloupe, with some rind , light lingering sourness, and a bit of bread crust .The acidity + cantaloupe tricks the mind into thinking there is a slight bit of sweet orange in there too.(Blood Orange marmalade-ish?)
Light, slightly jammy, with moderate very, very fine carbonation tingle. While not tasting the salt specifically , there is the lingering feel of light saltiness left after finish.
Overall, well-done, and am glad I got it. This could have been a train wreck, or at least indistinctly bland, but it was enjoyable and easy-drinking.

A very nice orange/yellow (close to the color of cantaloupe meat) with a thin white quickly dissolving head.
The aroma is a very faint lemony cantaloupe
Predominantly a slightly salty lime. The cantaloupe is there but more as a background flavor
The feel is where the melon shows up. This is smooth and a little thick with an aftertaste like a salty, slightly unripe melon
Overall this is a pretty darn good summer beer.

Appearance: Cloudy orange body, small white head, practically no lacing.
Aroma: Stone fruit, melon, a bit of citrus.
Taste: A little tang, but not sour. Some lemon. Feeling the cantaloupe more now as well as the salt.
Feel: Medium-to-light bodied, decently carbonated. Acidic.
Overall: Nice try, but...

12 oz can poured into a tulip pint glass. Fruit flavor, but not distinctly cantaloupe. Weird off-flavor of boozy malt. Not strong, but totally out of place in a fruited gose. Overall it's a nice summer beer.

Seeing the picture on this site and comparing it to the can that sits before me, I cannot stress how profoundly DuClaw has improved their branding in the last few years. I once referred to it as something like "a Hot Topic knockoff from a former Soviet state." Now it looks like a regular, respectable brewery.
That old branding was unfortunate, because their beers were usually quite solid. Let's see how Gose O's (a very hard name to google) stacks up.
Now, I judge American Gose's differently from their German counterparts. In my experience, they are just very different beers. The best German iterations are basically wonderful, crisp lagers (replete with grassy and/or floral nodes) that end with a compellingly dry tartness. The American ones are lightly sour blonde ales.
Gose O's is clearly of the American bent, but that doesn't mean it's bad or uninteresting.
The pour is cloudy dark yellow with the small, wispy head that's standard for the style.
The aroma is surprisingly grainy with some hits of citrus bite. Fine, albeit somewhat dull.
The flavor is much more interesting and well composed. Grainy, surprisingly lightly ashen malt starts things off, moving into a lightly sour, mostly sweet, and aggressively citrusy middle, finishing with inviting yeast chewiness and some lingering nodes of tart bacteria.
While it's not as expertly composed as the very best German iterations, Gose O's holds it own against most of the more revered American Gose's. It's well worth trying.

Pours a cloudy orange color, 2 finger fluffy white head. Nose is noticeablely melon forward, with cantaloupe and mango coming to mind. Flavor is surprisingly acidic, any hint of the fruits is quickly smashed by the citrus and salt combination...I really don’t get anything else. It’s nicely carbonated and light, the salt is proving too much for me. I’ll give Duclaw a mulligan, they’re generally a good brewery in my experience. I’m sure there is a following for these beers from them. Sadly, I’m not in that group.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a slightly hazy orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of cantaloupe, salt. Taste is very salty, light cantaloupe, desert dry, more salt. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Today's little CANQuest (tm) adventure is going to CANsist of Goses & Pilsners. The former because I seem to have a number of them, all ready to go & the latter because I simply CANnot get enough Pilsners. It's easy enough to suss out Lagers, but there just do not seem to be enough Pilsners, IMHO.
From the CAN: "Gose O's Gose Ale"; "Brewed with CANtaloupe and Black Lava Sea Salt"; "Crafted in Maryland"; "Craft Be Cherished. Rules Be Damned."; "Sour Season Is Open"; "This Gose is brewed with cantaloupe and black lava sea salt for a light, refreshing mix of sweet and salty flavors. The choice of orange and black ingredients is no coincidence, where we come from, these are the colors of summer! Step up to plate and swig away!"
Stats From the Brewery Website: "14° Plato[,] 14 IBU[,] Hop Variety: Hallertau Blanc[,] Grains: Pilsner, Wheat Malt, Oak Smoked Wheat, Sauer".
Once more, I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent for an inverted Glug. I sat in rapt fascination as it formed two-plus finger of fizzy, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head that quickly faded to wisps. 8=( Color was a lightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). In the nose on this one, salt was king! It really took me back to being underway, far out to sea, hanging on the fantail, taking in the salt air, smoking a cigar & having a cuppa joe. Nothing like it, nothing even CANparable. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin & watery, to be expected in this style. The taste was less tart & actually MUCH saltier than what I experienced in/with Purple Passion. That said, I did not really taste the CANtaloupe, thanks to both the salinity & the tartness. Finish was dry, salty & refreshing & while it might be nice at the ballpark on a hot, humid Summer's day, I would hope that they could pour it into a cup for me. It might be more pleasurable that way. YMMV.

Thanks to JLindros hooking me up with a can. Canned on 5/22/19.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice clear honey hue with a quarter inch head that fades slowly to leave light wisps and a thin halo.
S - Aromas of sweeter cantaloupe melon, like the dried practically jellied cantaloupe chunks you can find online. I like the melon aspects here which can be tough to translate this aggressively in a beer. There really isn't much else going on let alone gose like. There is more of a minerality here than salinity, which isn't a good thing at all. The melon is nice for sure sure but blindfolded I would just assume this was a fruit beer not a gose.
T - Taste is simlar to the nose with big melon notes, though not nearly as sweet and floral as the nose. There is nice lactic tartness going on, more lactic/citric acid than lemons or something like that. Little bit of salinity on the finish on the lips. Maybe a little bit of passionfruit as well.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, little crisp, finish is just a bit too lingering flemmy unfortunately.
O - Overall I really enjoyed the canteloupe aspects of this beer as it's a fruit that can be hard to really make pop in a beer. Sadly though that's about all I really liked about it. Definitely not a gose I would reach for again.

Nice lager color and a small frothy head redolent of espresso foam with tight bubbles. Moderate aroma of hybrid rose and sea spray. Classic gose with salty coriander and rose petal. Finished clean with little to no aftertastes.

Picked up on a whim at a random store in MD, canned 5/22/19
Pours a larger fizzy foamy head with lower retention, light lacing, mostly hazy light pale color
nose fair tart lactic acid and creamy lacto, distinct sea salt interestingly, tart mild citrus like acidity and some cantaloupe melon aroma, but also a little like butyric acid rotten fruit garbage thing going on, which is weird
Taste fair tartness with more lactic acid, very light creamy lacto, fairl sea salt like salty flavor, and light cantaloupe melon, tart citrus and bit more acidity, flemmy acidic finish, no butyric acid thankfully
Mouth is med to lighter bod, a little creamy but not much, fair acidity, medium-higher carb, quite flemmy
Overall mix of bleh, nose started pretty good then turned into garbage aromas, taste was Ok but mostly bland, a little too acidic and flemmy, overall not a great beer...
Sorry rudzud, I hope your can is better.

Aroma is kinda sulfuring like many Gose's. Very sweet-tart to taste and salt provide a thirst quenching finish. Very slick mouthfeel and finished very clean. A decent beer. Not quite a session beer as the taste is a little too extreme but a nice 1 and done beer.
