12oz bottle from Pioneer Supermarket on the UWS NYC
A mildly hazy golden orange with a thin lingering white head, smell is funky tart white grapes, raspberry yogurt, and a hint of bourbon sweetness, taste is sour hard bourbon candy, fairly light on the bourbon, but it adds a nice hint of warmer sweetness at the end, well carbonated, light and somewhat dry. An excellent offering, hail Satan!

I really love the depth in this beer it has the same classic taste as the hell on wood barrel with vanilla and Oak infused in a really well-done Kettle sour with tons of green apple and vinegar sourness. What a treat!

Pours slightly hazy, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is green apple, hay, Belgian spice and bourbon. Medium-light bodied, sweet, with medium-high carbonation. Makes for a very interesting for a sour ale. Can certainly taste the Hell on Wood influence. Loads of character and depth for a low abv beer. Will get this again.

I am a fan of DuClaw B.C. & of the DuClaws, the kitties who are given free rein in the brewery in an homage to the ancient brewsters & their cats who weeded out mice & rats from the valuable malt stash. I have to cop to being intrigued by this melding of a Belgian Sour & the much more modern innovation of barrel aging.
From the bottle: "
I Pop!ped the cap & began a slow, gentle pour into the awaiting glass since I could see some lees sitting on the bottle's punt. Unbidden, it formed a one finger cap of dense, foamy, tawny head with great retention, refusing to die and seemingly regenerating itself. Color was a gorgeous Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, leading to a visit from The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Croesus & Midas. Nose was no less than wild! It had a familiar funk, but really cut by the coconut oil smell of bourbon. 8=O Yum. I dislike bourbon on its own, but bourbon barrel-aging really seems to do incredible things to beer. Mouthfeel was medium, but VERY carbonated & bubbly, I liked the way that it scrubbed on my tongue to really allow my taste buds to experience the variegated tastes. When rating to style, it is going to get hurt by its lack of funkiness, but the barrel aging really shines through. It was definitely a Sour, since I could feel it tingling in the hinges of my jaw, but it was not tart since my lips remained unpuckered. It was a Sour/American Wild Ale on training wheels, to be sure, but it was really tasty from a Bbl.-aging standpoint. The funk was there, but it was doing a dance with the bourbon, creating a very pleasant taste. Finish was dry, of course, but not overpowering. I was not left feeling like I could walk away from the style & never look back. YMMV.

Appearances murky apricot nice head in carbonation with good lacing.
Smell of ripe apricots, spiced peaches and mandarin orange. With a bit the bourbon undertone.
The base golden sour beer it's pretty good there's a slight bourbon taste when it taste of apricot orange and lemon.
Mouthful is nice carbonation is good just what you would expect.
We're all this is a pretty unique offering I was somewhat skeptical given the bourbon barrel-aged component added to a golden sour. The most part they pulled this off however I would like to see it have a little bit more bourbon taste.
