As our second limited 16oz can to come down the line, this DIPA takes a turn from our previous hoppy beers with a hazy twist of citrus meeting grape and white wine notes balanced by lactose. The recipe for this delicious Hallertau Blanc hop focused DIPA appeared to our brewer while listening to a favorite song during a long day at the brewery.

Pours clear gold in color with minimal head. Taste is grapefruit, melon, and honey. Medium heavy bodied, bitter, with moderate carbonation. Makes for a bitter sipper. I prefer other beers from the brewery.

Pours a lightly hazy lighter amber with half inch of soapy white head, a couple of thin rings left behind. Smell: biscuit drenched in pancake syrup, cooked peaches, pineapple, papaya, passionfruit. Taste: orange, resin, pineapple, passionfruit, honey-lemon cough drop, the dank side of mosaic, biscuit; overall super sweet. Pretty full bodied, lowish carb. Fruity, tasty, but way too sweet without enough bitterness or booze to balance.

I leave the detailed descriptions to everyone else, since they are very good. Being a Double IPA drinker, I wanted to like this. It is very good, but I prefer hops over malt. Even with 3 hops, the hops are toned down by the malt making it sweet, and missing some of that bitterness I love. 10/26/17 canning

Uses Citra, Mosaic, and Hallertau Blanc hops in an 8.6% abv DIPA... Medium-gold body is faintly hazed and only produced a finger of finely-bubbled head... Characteristics are piney and resinous, with appropriately shellacked fruits underneath, vaguely tropical with some dark citrus notes... Malts are fairly assertive, adding some body and a honeyed sweetness to the mix... Medium-weight feel, smooth, and round on the tongue... A little too on the sweet side for my tastes, and only mildly bitter, with subdued carbonation... On paper, it might seem impressive, but nothing about the beer really set it apart from the masses... 10/26/17 canning...

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/26/2017. Pours slightly hazy medium golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, white wine grapes, guava, berry, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, honey, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, white wine grapes, guava, berry, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, honey, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, white wine grapes, guava, berry, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, honey, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.6%. Overall this is a delicious DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Great showcase of juicy Mosaic, Citra, Hallertau Blanc hops; pretty hefty malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy feeling. Pretty East coast feeling with the mellow bitterness and minimal drying. A very enjoyable offering.

Good looking IPA pour from the can, leaving good foamy spotty lacing after the head faded. Aroma is malty with caramel and floral hops trailing. Flavor is sweet with caramel, orange peel, citrus hops and wheat bread/malty notes. Best part of this beer is the creamy feel and smooth way it slides down.
