Appearance:
Has a translucent haze of pale orange, like sunlight caught in sea spray. Its cloud-white head leaves a short trail of fragmented cirrocumulus, even after its short retention is spent.
Bouquet:
A plenitude of peaches, baked in a sea of butter with a fistful of brown sugar melted in.
Feel:
A crisp medium, made soft by its low carbonation, which disperses to the corners of the mouth like a school of startled minnows. Moderate sweetness followed by a fast-moving dry malt finish that rounds it out.
Taste:
Juicy peaches, green apple, and a drizzle of sugared lime. A morsel of buttery, barely-golden pie crust rushes in to dial the tartness down. A faint echo of brown sugar and cinnamon reverberate throughout.
Special Note:
Enjoy on tap in specialized beer glass. You will not get the same complexity straight from the can.

Like a summer visit to grandma's house, but with a racier, zestier side, DuClaw brings back those memories in beer form. Their Peach Cobbler Sour Me is riddled with all those comforting spices of cinnamon and nutmeg with a peach and brown sugar balance all layered on a kettle soured ale that'll also keep you on your toes.
Bright gold and with a soft translucent haze, Peach Cobbler builds a loose, partly fizzy, partly froth cap ahead of a tantalizing scent of sour peach with cider, wine and citrus nuance. But a savory graham cracker character highlights the crusty scent that leads into a savory maltiness of brown sugar, granola and butter pecan in a pleasant palate surprise.
With the light character of praline playing out in the recesses of taste, the boldness of acidity springs out with a strong sense of white grape, crabapple, gooseberry, lemon, lime and then there's the unmistakable peachy zing. While the savory components remain alive through the late palate, its the sourness that stand tall even with the spices of cinnamon and nutmeg playing a balancing role throughout.
The subtlety of the spices create a restrained level of complexity that's much appreciated as the beer finishes malty-dry and with a firm acidity in tact. Refreshing, crisp and off-clean, the brown sugar and pie crust impressions sell the taste of cobbler very well, but in the end are a slight distraction to the peach and acidity that really want to control the taste on their own.
