Tried to get a good head on this one but struck out. The pour didn't produce much foam and what was there quickly disappeared. Graham cracker is the dominate note trailed by chocolate. Not very sweet for a pastry stout.
Somewhat harsh on the carbonation side.
Not on elf my favorite Stouts. I'll finish this one off and move on to something else.

From the bottom of the can: "SMOR-22-041825 CANNED ON 05/08/23"
Appearance: It is a black-bodied beer with a very large light brown head. It has bubbles of various sizes but they are on the larger side. Head retention is good and there is some nice lacing.
Aroma: It smells a bit like peanut butter and chocolate. It has a bit of an artificial candy aroma to it, like smelling the inside of a plastic trick-or-treat pumpkin after a long night of getting candy. There is a bit of a Tootsie Roll aroma.
Taste: Chocolate candy flavor up front. It tastes like a Tootsie Roll. Towards the middle of the palate there is a bit of a roasted nut flavor mixed with a flavor of burnt toast. It has a slightly acrid aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It is full-bodied beer which feels exceptionally well done. It coats the palate very well and it is an excellent example for the style. The beer has a slightly acrid bitterness from the grains which is nice and feels more in line with a traditional stout. This beer is an excellent benchmark for texture, body, and bitterness.
Overall: It's a bit of a weird beer. The can states that this is a "S'MORES DESSERT STOUT" with "notes of smooth chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and golden graham cracker." It Is a very good stout but it never tastes like a s'mores. There are notes of chocolate but it tastes artificial which is fine when combined with some of the malt notes, but it never tastes like marshmallow or graham cracker at all. For a stout it is pretty good but as anything else it seems like a bait and switch. I would recommend it if you are looking for a stout with a nice body and a bit of chocolate flavor, otherwise I would just recommend skipping it. I probably wouldn't buy it again.
