1st review of this beer on BA. Had this in August 2015 @ Belmont Station. Was prolly the weakest beer I had that day. Cask version.
Pours what corroborates the cask job, listless cloudy yellow liquid with a light 1/49" film on the top. Aroma of lime and tequila mostly.
Taste is a little rough. 4.4% comes on stronger than that, those tequila soaked oak chips taste like a tequila boilermaker. Super low cask strength carbonation does this beer no favors. It is the exact opposite of what this needs. This needs high carbonation to keep the tequila dread from resonating and fouling it all up as it does here. Tastes like a mixture of a shot of tequila, lime juice and a bud light. And you know, that might have been exactly what they were going for, but sorry, its not a winner in my book. Its definitely a salty gose, but they muck it all up after that. The citrus peel contributes to the brackish burn. Hard pass.
