Seasonal tap at the NW public house. Pours a thick tea brown with good clarity and an equally dense foam cap.
The beer has a rich floral and citrus hop smell like you'd expect from a NW Pale and a slight earthy peated malt following.
The taste is also bright with hops, citrus and assertive bitterness. There's a slight sweet and chocolate flavor from the malt and a somewhat harsh astringent and dirt finish.
Overall its not bad, but it may upset the brown ale purists with this bright hop flavors and aromas. It suffers a little from the rather rough malt flavors though, which could really use some taming.
