Grabbed a pint of this on tapping night at the brewpub. Kölsch is far from my favorite style, but maybe with fresh hops it'll be nicer.
Pours bright golden with great clarity. Starts with a brilliant white head that thins as it contacts my mouth. Towards the finish, its just a thin rim of bubbles.
Temperature of the beer is just about perfect so the aroma, though gentle, hints at the malt and wheat, just a tad of sour from the yeast, and a slight kiss of noble green hops.
Taste is demonstratively Kölsch: Esters and wheat flavors start the palate off but the sip finishes with a fruity green hop quench - not too bitter so it doesn't dry the mouth.
This beer is an easy drink. The addition of fresh hops is a nice touch though not the obvious match.
