From notes, 25 July 2009. Laurelwood Pizza Company
Organic Hefeweizen: 11ยบ Plato. 18 IBU's. 4.8% ABV.
Hazy golden orange body beneath a two-finger wide head of bright white froth that holds quite well and leaves wides streaks and tiny spots of lace behind. The aroma is malty and wheatish with the typical yeasty fruitiness of banana and apple peppered with a mild bit of clove. It's medium to medium-light in body and somewhat effervescent. The flavor follows the aroma (typical Bavarian hefe) and only very minor hops appear in the background (leafy/grassy). A firm bitterness balances it, and it finishes fairly dry with a slight dollop of malt and some mild phenols lingering. Right on target, and nicely balanced. Quite drinkable.
