Look: Medium to dark orange on the pour which initiates a bulbous head to form, hold, and slowly recede, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Tangerines, pineapple, guava, pink grapefruit, papaya, some pine, freshly baked bread, limes, and mandarins
Taste: Citrus fruits come together and hit strongly up front as a little pine creeps into the mix and mingles well. Waves of pineapple, guava, and papaya come on and shine as the citrus backs off before limes, tangerines, and grapefruit return to close it out with a light bite
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and just a touch of dryness on the finish
Overall: I dig it. This is a tasty and interesting pale ale that utilizes a hop I’m not familiar with and although I could detect the Simcoe in the fold, the HBC brought a nice mix of tropical fruit that all came together in a delicious way. Definitely worth the try/purchase
