First had: on tap at Laurelwood Public House, Portland, OR
Poured brownish black with honey brown highlights, and a large beige head that retained and laced well. Smell of oily, piney hops, with a solid roasty malt background. Taste followed the smell, with a slightly coffee-ish bitterness in the finish/aftertaste. Pretty typical for the style; no real surprises. Medium bodied, and a nice quaff overall.

Had on tap at Laurelwood.
A- Very dark brown. Tan head. Good lacing. 4/5
Smell- Great piney hop aroma. Small roastyness. 4.5/5
T- Roasty malts and tons of piney hop flavor. Big bitternes throughout the sip. 4.5/5
Mouthfeel- Great mouthfeel. Even with all the flavor, it is more on the thin side than not. 4.5/5
Overall- Very good. Nice pineiness, great roasty, coffee flavors. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at this beer. Very good Black IPA. I hope they make more of this. 4.5/5
