L: Pours dark chocolate, forming a very active tan head that's quick to fade. Scant retention on the surface with a thin ring of lacing around the edge. Held to the light, deep near-black opaque brown.
S: Hints of chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon barrel.
T: The bourbon barrel is apparent in the first taste, there's some hints of char and malts. Some baker's chocolate. Somewhat underwhelming.
F: Thinner than expected. Medium body. Decent carbonation.
O: It lacks some of the robustness in comparable imperial stouts but still a serviceable entry.

Good Stout!! Strong but not overpowering Bourbon Barrel flavor. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer featured a dense brown body with no light coming through and a fizzy light tan head that fades quickly. Minimum lacing. Aroma and taste include bready malt, bourbon barrel flavoring and a little semi-sweet chocolate. Simple, strong flavoring nicely done. Mouthfeel is medium rich with a slight bit of harshness from the high .abv and the bourbon barrel flavor but mostly goes down fairly easy. Quite enjoyable.
